Our school started education in 1953 in the İskele neighbourhood of Anamur, on the seashore, with a single teacher. In 1966, three classrooms were built. In 1974, a citizen named Zehra Marulyalı had a building with 16 classrooms and a dormitory for poor children constructed for our school on a 4,000 m² garden plot, and our school was then given the name Zehra Marulyalı Primary School.
